Privacy Policy
Who we are
Our website address is https://chkr.at. For more information, please visit the Imprint.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos, Reddit posts, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
For statistics, we collect the following data for each visit to this site:
- Your IP address
- Your user agent (browser name and version, operating system)
- Which pages of this site you looked at
This allows us to measure how many views a blog post had and which browsers our audience is using, so we can optimize the site.
Who we share your data with
None of this data (such as which pages you visited) is shared with any third party.
How long we retain your data
Server access logs (IP address, user agent, page visited) are retained for a limited period for security and statistical purposes.
What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. To make a request, contact us via the e-mail address in the Imprint.
Where we send your data
No personal data is sent to third parties.
Visual effect preferences
This site offers optional visual effects (boot overlay, matrix rain, click ripple) that can be toggled via the ⚙ icon in the top-right corner. Your preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage under the keys fx-boot, fx-matrix, and fx-ripple. In addition, the key booted is stored in your browser's sessionStorage so the boot overlay is only shown once per browser session; it is deleted when you close the tab or browser. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
